which wine he or she wishes to taste”. Manuela Aichinger is the
sommelier of Restaurante Jens and also a wine buff. Manuela
guarantees first class service as not only does she know and admire
Jens’ cooking but also knows and admires her wines. Clients will be
well looked after by Manuela and her recommendations are spot on.
Manuela Aichinger has always combined her professional life with
the study of wine. “Wine tasting is my passion and deserves constant
effort “. The same way that Jens does his shopping hunting for the
very best ingredients, I do just that with our wines buying from wine
cellars which follow our philosophy of personalised atention.
Some of our recommendations are as follows:
Macia Batle, private Reserve (red). A cuvée, the grapes are of Manto
Negro and Callet variety and are picked by hand. The vines are more
than 40 years old. An exquisite mallorcan wine with a long and
intense bouquet.
My favourite is and has been for a while the Pesquera Reserva de
Alejandro Fernández D.O. Ribera del Duero. On our wine list we
have three other bottles of the “Rey deTempranillo” (King of the
young wines). Their wines benefit from the sweet tannin of ripe
fruit and they are velvety like the Tempranillo. “I’m a great
admirer of this man who has proved that with good soil and a
magnificent microclimate, personality is expressed naturally with
less wood” |
